Soulmate

A love begins in a quiet classroom, disappears beyond the end of a childhood street and returns in changing forms across a lifetime. Thirteen songs follow it from innocence through reunion, loss and distance toward a discovery. Love does not have to end when a relationship changes. It can outgrow possession, survive separation and finally reveal itself everywhere, even in the tree a lonely boy once asked for answers.

In a quiet classroom a boy encounters a feeling for which he has no name. When the girl disappears to the far side of town, he searches as only a child can, asking the rain, the sky and the trees because nature might know the answer. Soulmate then allows them both to grow. That first imprint becomes a long search, an unexpected return, fierce closeness and a loss shaped by fear. Love hurts, resurfaces and briefly rises from its own ashes. Gradually it stops asking for a glance, proof or a shared future. It learns to feel another person across distance, wish them freedom and remain present where nothing can be owned or promised. Images of shadows, webs and an artificial world embody everything that separates a person from the heart. The true adversary is neither the woman nor fate but fear, pride and the need to force love into one acceptable form. The final songs therefore offer no victory over another person. They release the old identity that could love only on condition of return. When that self falls away, love appears in breath, light, stone, sea and wind moving through the trees. The circle closes there. The grown man finally receives an answer to the child's question and understands that the woman was never a possession or a missing half. She was the path through which he learned to recognize love as the substance of being itself.
