Veins of Light

Beneath the skin flows not only blood, but an entire lived life. Veins of Light turns pulse, breath, and bodily warmth into an image of light returning to places long disconnected from their own aliveness.

Veins of Light turns attention away from distant ideas and back toward the body. A silent current, a second heartbeat, and a violin tone following the path of blood first appear beneath the skin. Veins of light are neither a literal description of bodily energy nor a promise of healing. They are an image of the moment a person feels alive again in the hands, chest, breath, and movement after a period of numbness. Every sound speaks the narrator's name, reminding us that identity forms not only in thought but also through bodily experience. The fire worn in flesh captures warmth and strength returning without denying pain or fatigue. When struggle ends in the final lines, wholeness does not mean perfect health. It means a renewed relationship with a body that is no longer a foreign obstacle, but the place where life is actually happening now.
