Static Horizon

A black ocean waits beneath the bridge while the storm quietly learns your name. Crossing the electric horizon erases the line between person, wind, and lightning until the storm itself begins moving through the body.

The bridge trembles above black water and the sky holds electricity just before release. The city has been left far behind, solid ground has disappeared, and only sea, wind, and a storm charged horizon remain. Static Horizon captures a crossing in which outside danger gradually becomes inner force. The railings shine, breath grows thin, and the storm learns the name of the person walking toward it. At first she faces the storm, then feels its voltage in her own veins, and finally can no longer tell where her body ends and the elemental current begins. This is not the conquest of nature or a victory over it. The deepest transformation arrives when the narrator understands that she is not chasing through the storm. The storm moves through her form and briefly lends her its majestic strength. Black waves continue shining below and static charge preserves her shape even after the road disappears into wind. The song is a dark yet uplifting ritual for moments when a person dares to cross pressure and discovers that far more energy can be carried within than expected.
