Where Courage Begins

At the center of the seventeen steps lies a threshold. Courage arrives without armor and does not wait for fear to end. It begins with one trembling breath, one step without guarantees and a decision to remain with one's own truth. Here the journey stops merely happening to a person and becomes a choice.

The first eight songs descend into states that bind a person and determine their reactions. Where Courage Begins stands at the exact point of reversal. It does not celebrate a hero without doubt. Its narrator knows the edge, the fall, the dreams that passed and the safe choice followed by a lingering why. Courage is therefore born neither from certainty nor from an image of strength. It appears in the quiet decision to take one step while fear remains in the body. Here courage refuses to wait for a perfect plan, a guarantee or an easy victory. A breath, trembling knees and the will not to let other voices drown out an inner tone are enough. This changes the direction of the entire album. Until now the task was to recognize the prison and recover a voice. From this threshold onward a person consciously collaborates with life. The future remains unknown but stillness no longer wins merely because it is familiar. This threshold reminds us that courage is not a trait reserved for the chosen. It begins whenever someone fully present in fear still says yes to the nearest truthful step.
